Today, I'm gonna show you how to make Bruce's version of millennium falcon(which he taught in class). This origami is LI (Low Intermediate), 1 star level (maximum of 5 stars). First of all, you need a piece of square paper, I personally don't really cares what type of paper you use. Anyways, let's start!
First, fold the paper horizontally, then unfold. Next, fold the paper vertically, then unfold. Turn the paper over.
Next, fold the paper diagonally, then unfold. Then, fold the paper diagonally the other way, then unfold.
The next step is a hard step. Hold the paper up in the air, right hand under the paper. Then push the center point. The paper should form a square shape, then just crease the paper. Now, your paper should looks like a square and have two flap on both sides. This base is called a square base.
Okay, now you can check the four edges of the square base. You notice that there are two edges that created a little flap. The flap should be facing you.
Now, fold the two edges to the middle crease (only the first section). Then, fold the top point down as far as you can without making a crease on the edges on the middle crease. Now your paper should look like this.
Un fold the folds that you just created in the last step. Next step is a very hard step. You need to open up the flap that the two edges created. Hint: use the folds that you did in the last step. When you folded it, just crease everything else. This fold is called a Petal fold.
Do the same thing on the backside. The paper should looks like a parallelogram and it should have two flaps on both sides. This base is called a Bird base.
Now fold the left-first flap to the right. Turn over, do the same thing on the backside, but instead of folding left to right, we are folding right to left. These two folds are called Minor Miracle Fold. Now you should have something like this.
Now, notice that the two top point is separated, so you need to separate them even more. So, when you are doing that, you should feel that there are some thing moved inside the paper, just ignore it and crease it. Now you should have some thing like this.
Do the same thing on the other side.
Now, fold the top-left point down. How much? Fold it down so that the top-left point meets the bottom-left point. Now you should have some thing like this. Then unfold.
Now you are gonna do a fold called Inside Reverse Fold. This is how to do a inside reverse fold. First, open up the right-first flap. Next, fold the top point down along the crease you just made. Now, you should have some thing like this. Then, fold the right-first flap back. Then you did it, that is the inside reverse fold.
Do the last two step on the other side. Now you should have some thing like this.
Next step is to fold the bottom point up to about a little bit down from the mid-top point. Now you should have some thing like this.
Next, turn over. Then fold the bottom point to the left along the edge. Hint: the fold should form a triangle, and the triangle's bottom point should be in the same place as the bottom-left corner of the entire origami.
Next step is a hard step. You need to fold the triangle that you made in half and crease everything else.
Next, turn over. Then unfold the fold you just fold. Haha, this is confusing. Unfold the fold you just fold. It means unfold the fold you created before the step before the step. Then use the crease that you made and fold the flap backward. This backward fold is called a Mountain Fold.
You are almost there! But, unfortunately, next step is a hard step. You need to make a fold that is called a Outside Reverse Fold, and this kind of fold is a little bit hard. First, you need to open up the gun of this millennium falcon. Then fold the bottom part of the gun upward. If you want your gun to be big, you need to fold more upward, same but opposite for if you want a small gun. Then close up the gun. Now, use your thumb and your index finger to catch the gun. drag it upward so that it stayed away from the gun-holder. Now that is a outside reverse fold. Now, you should have some thing like this.
Now turn the paper over again. Now remember that time that I said fold the bottom point to about a little bit down from the mid-top point? Now, you need to fold the little point that you leaved down and the flip it over, now you will see...
...Your finished Bruce's version of the amazing millennium falcon!!!!
Now that hopefully you all got this Bruce's version of the millennium falcon tutorial, see you next time, have fun with the millennium falcon! OR-313 out.
